Take a Chill Pill~

Mr. L and Ashley's trip to new eating places... Today, we wanna share this new cafe in Serangoon Gardens. It's called Chillax Massage Cafe, basically a two-storey shophouse - cafe on the first level and massage area on the second. The decor is simple enough, a bit of retro-themed with all the baskets, food tins, toys and "Lao Fu Zi" comics from the 80's. And it has both our favourite Khong Guan biscuit titbits with those colourful sugar coating at the top, from our childhood days...

Though casual in setting, the food there is pretty nice! I ordered the Seafood Aglio Olio, while Ashley ordered from the all-day breakfast menu - Breakfast at Tiffany's. We shared the Wasabi Fried Chicken Wings and the Honey Yuzu drink. And for dessert, we had the Chocolate Banana cake which was rich and flavourful.

The concept of the massage cafe - as Darren Wee (an ex-Power 98 DJ), the 'towkay' told us when he delivered our dessert to us and started a conversation with us - was quite interesting. He himself is a massage fanatic, which is why he wants to infuse the massage concept into his cafe. Say you're meeting your friends at the cafe, but they are gonna be 15-mins late, you can head upstairs for a quick 10-mins massage. They do head-and-shoulders, foot and full body massage over an extensive selection of different time durations (10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60-mins) for your convenience sake.

As such, after our dinner, we decided to go upstairs for a go at their massage. The area upstairs is very different from the cafe below - very cosy and homey feeling with dimly-lit lights. The massage is relatively okay - I am not an expert on massages so I can't really be the judge of that. You will just have to try it out yourselves when you drop by the cafe...
Simple, retro-kinda of feel at the Chillax.
